Bring your Pre-School age and younger kids to our Mini-Mustang 1,000 Books Sign-Up Event for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten!

• 11:20am-12:00noon  & 3:30pm-4:00pm
• At the Macksville City Library

Last November the Macksville City Library announced this new program for our youngest patrons, thanks to a grant from the South Central Community Foundation.  In the nine months since, our top-reader graduated to Kindergarten having read 600 books. 🙂

This program is open to patrons Pre-school age and younger.  Participants will register at the library and pick up their very own Pledge book & reading log.  Parents will help record the books read to their children, and kids will turn in their reading logs after every 100 book milestone.  We will celebrate with stickers & prizes along the journey, and after the 1,000th book, their names will be added to the prestigious 1,000 Book Wall of Fame!

Reading aloud to children is one of the VERY BEST things you can do to prepare them for future success in education.  It’s also FUN & a great way to build relationships, expand vocabulary, and introduce kids to a world of imagination, facts, and amazing people & places!!!

Note: If you miss our sign up event, you can still sign up during regular library hours.  🙂
