1,000 Books- With Time to Spare!
Way to Read, Blakely!
We now have two girls and two boys on the Mini-Mustang 1,000 Books Wall of Fame! 🙂
Congratulations to Blakely, (and all those who read to her– especially Mom and Nana!) for recording 1,000 books shared and read aloud.
Blakely really likes books about fairies and princesses, and her favorite book is: Pinkalicious by Victoria Kann.
When asked what she enjoyed most about the 1,000 Books program, she replied: checking out books from the library and getting candy! 🙂
Now, Blakely is in the reader role as she helps her little brother, Boden, meet his 1,000 books goal. She plans to read The Foot Book and The Gingerbread Boy to Boden. And, her puppy, Jax, will be a good listener, too! She is well on her way to success in Kindergarten & beyond!
If you would like to participate in our 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program, stop by the Macksville City Library! This program is free & open to children Preschool age & younger. (And, the younger that kids get started, the easier it is to meet their goals!) Participants can register at the library and pick up their Pledge book & reading log. Parents will help record the books read to their children and turn in reading logs after every 100 book milestone. We will CELEBRATE with stickers & prizes along the journey. After the 1,000th book, their names will be added to the 1,000 Book Wall of Fame!
Reading aloud to children is one of the VERY BEST things you can do to prepare them for future success in education. It’s also FUN & a great way to build relationships, expand vocabulary, and introduce kids to a world of imagination, facts, and amazing people & places!!!
1,000 Books= Time Well Spent!
Way to go Blakely! Keep on Reading!!!
