2013 Statistics & Harbingers of Spring!
What a difference a little sunshine makes…
Last week our sedums (or Live Forever plants, left) were blanketed by snow, and our bulbs were just poking through.
Today the snow is gone; greenery is really shooting up, and it’s time to do some pruning & raking.
Hooray for Spring!
But, before we push forward to the new season, let’s pause a minute to look back at the year gone by.
2013 Yielded…………
30 Programs for Children (Summer Reading, Bird Education, My Plate Education, KS Reads to Pre-K, to name a few)
811 attendees at children’s programming, 58 attendees at adult programming (Maintain Don’t Gain, Art Show, etc).
2,694 Library Visitors in 2013!
890 Computer users (not counting the myriads who drop in or park outside to use our wireless internet!)
958 Adult Materials checked out; 2,197 Children’s Materials checked out.
517 Books added to our collection.
90 Kids participating in Summer Reading
Over $5,500 in Grant money for programming for children and adults.
Generous book donations from local patrons and friends.
A year end total of $17,375 in our Library Addition Fund thanks to many heartfelt gifts and memorials.
Thank you, to all who helped make 2013 a successful year of outreach, education and the love of learning.
Join us in 2014 as we continue to work towards making Macksville the best it can be!
