1,000 Books- New Mini Mustang on the Wall of Fame
Congratulations to the newest member on the Mini Mustang Wall of Fame!
This little cutie completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Macksville City Library with one more year of Preschool left to complete.

While many kids (and adults) visit the library with no idea what they want to check out, this young patron would let it be known: “I want a raining book“ or “a Princess book“ or “An Activity Bag,“ or whatever topic was foremost on her mind! A librarian’s DREAM!
♥
When quizzed after receiving her prizes, these were her responses:
Favorite thing about the 1,000 Books program? The prizes.
Who read the most books to you? Mom!
Do you read books to anyone? Just a little… to my brother.
Do you have a favorite book? Princess ones.
What do you want to be when you grow up? EVERYTHING!
Then, in a quiet voice she added, “You know what?”
“What?” I wondered…
Fingering the medal around her neck, “I’ve always wanted one of these!”
Well, you’ve earned it, girl! You’ve earned it! 🙂

And after they left, her mama texted me a priceless story from earlier when her daughter had told her that she wanted to be a “library picker.”
Mom asked what she meant, and she said, “Like Jody.” She “would help other people pick books.“

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten… who knows where the path may lead…
But one thing is for certain: it leads to SUCCESS in Kindergarten and BEYOND!

If you have a little one– Sign up SOON!
I want to be like Jody, too! What a positive influence on the library and the entire community!
Awww- you are too sweet! Everyone makes a difference!
Thanks for all you for your community library. I am very proud of your latest 1,000 books before Kdg. recipient, because she is my granddaughter. Looks like she is going to be a book lover like me!
