On a HOT July day, we had a little “Christmas in July” with our shark ornaments!  (At least we can think COOL thoughts!)  The stories read were: The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark by Ken Geist, Sea of Dreams by Dennis Nolan, I’m the Biggest Thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry, and Knight Owl by Christopher Denise.

         Our second craft involved making beach magnets from recycled lids.

Kids chose what items to put in the lids and then sprinkled sand over it all to cover the glue.

This craft stayed at the library to dry (LOTS of GLUE was involved!).

When the kids come back Monday for the party & final story hour, they will get their magnets AND the AWESOME photos they posed for below: (Don’t be scared- No actual children were devoured in this photo shoot! 🙂 )

If you missed our Story Hour, feel free to drop by Saturday morning, 9am-noon, or on another open day to make the crafts (while supplies last) and to take a photo!

Reminder:  Monday, July 11th is our final Story Time for kids 6th grade & under.  It will start at the regular time: 3:00pm.

Our pool party will be from 4:15-5:15pm (directly after Story Time). (Parents or other guardians welcome & encouraged to swim, too!)

Bring your completed logs to the library, and be sure to bring your book bag to take home all of the fun prizes! 🙂
