Summer Reading #1
It’s GREAT to be “ALL TOGETHER NOW,” again!
We kicked off our Summer Reading program with a quick picture in the Original Library, & then we spread out with EVERYBODY (23 kids plus 13 helpers & caregivers) into our spacious new programming space!
Two stories were read, That’s What Friends Are For, by Valeri Gorbachev, and The Three Little Guinea Pigs by Erica S. Perl.
Book bags were decorated & balloons were bounced & bobbled to the basket.
And, what is really awesome about the photo above? Not only the basket about to be scored… It’s the mom’s & grandma’s with their littles in the next room- able to walk & soothe a restless, babbling toddler in air-conditioned comfort, with no worries about distracting other participants. This new space is SO MUCH MORE WELCOMING for EVERYONE! 🙂
Stickers were place on our collage— what do you think it will be? And everyone made a puzzle piece to add to our bulletin board.
Then it was time for checking out books, choosing Brag Tags, & snagging some yummy cookies! (Thanks to the Community VBS for donating today’s snack!)
And, THANKS to these three talented, bubble-blowing girls for helping recreate the scene from our book bags!
If you missed today’s Summer Reading, it’s not too late to join the fun. We have prizes for readers of ALL AGES & some really great books ready for check out.
Next week’s Story Hour is one you don’t want to miss– the Wetlands Education Center is bringing plants & critters…
Hope to see you then!
