THANK YOU, Dollar General!

Our new cubbies finally arrived to hold all of our board books (notice the pop of red on the sides 🙂 ).

We recognize that the books won’t stay alphabetized for long… but for a spell- the Beaton, Boynton, Freeman & the Sesame Street Town books are all where they belong!

Board books are PERFECT for beginning readers & as an introduction to reading for little ones who may have shorter attention spans &  tend to grab for pages & rip traditional books.

Dollar General’s generous Summer Reading grant of $2,250 helped us purchase these cubbies, two rolling bulletin/white boards, a variety of books for our shelves, bags for all participants, Brag Tags, craft supplies, and stuffed book buddies for all ages!

What a positive impact this grant has made on our 2023 Summer Reading program– and beyond!!!

And speaking of bulletin boards– our butterfly collage is looking GREAT!  Thanks to ‘kids’ of all ages (even families!) who are helping this mosaic image take flight.  And, a bonus- the little stickers help promote fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination & letter recognition.

Who knew learning could be so fun?
