Fair Results & YA/Adult Update
The Macksville City Library is well represented at the Stafford County Fair! 🙂
To the left is a photo Bailei took at the library which earned her a Blue ribbon & Reserve Class Champion ribbon!
Below is a picture of the entries for the Bucket Beautification challenge.
The Macksville City Library won 1st place in the business division with the “Plant Seeds of Kindness” decor (below). Need inspiration on how to plant seeds of kindness? Check out the children’s books listed on the side of the bucket… These are just a sampling of books that remind us that kindness is important- and that ‘Kids’ Books’ are really for EVERYONE!
Thanks, to the Stafford County Fair for sponsoring this contest. Prize money- $50 will go to our library addition fund!
Â
And, just a reminder that our YA & Adult Summer Reading programs are still ongoing, with reading logs being due on August 5th. Here are few books that readers have enjoyed so far:
Whiskey Beach by Nora Roberts  “Who should be charged with murder? Was Grandma pushed down the stairs?” Â
The Summer That Made Us by Robyn Carr   “Family comes together at the summer house they’ve abandoned for almost 30 years. Keep tissues close, a good read.”
Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens: “Marsh girl lives a troubled lonely life.”
Two Weeks, by Karen Kingsbury: “Hard to put down, makes you think…”
Happy Reading!
