July 7th was our final Summer Reading Program, and it was our POOL PARTY, too!

The session started with some stories, a time to share everyone’s favorite books read,  and a quick recap of all the programs we’ve had throughout the summer.

 Then, it was time for PRIZES!  We gave away books, pencil pouches, headphones, worm balls, glow-sticks, and more!!!

 We are SO THANKFUL to the following:

 Wonderful Volunteers: Eileen, Debbie, Lexi, Jacob, Lisa, & Jennifer.  Library Board Members: Eileen L., Audrey A., Debbie S., Audrey W, Mary Ellen S., Nicole A., & Karen S. (Provided cookies for each session!),  Dollar General ($1,500 Summer Reading Grant), the State Library ($120 for prize books), and Pratt Walmart ($80 for Summer Reading Party prizes)

37 kids came to the final story hour.  We were amazed to have 15 kids with Perfect Attendance! And, special recognition prizes were given to kids who read above and beyond their reading goals (Our top reader read 274 books in six weeks!)  It was another SUCCESSFUL summer with 56 kids participating (grades 6th & under), and more still participating in the Summer Reading Challenge BINGO (for ages 13 and up).

Participants: If you were unable to make it to the party, bring in your Reading Logs to claim your prizes (there is still time to read & meet your goals!).

The Summer Reading Program may be over, but the Library is still here to Serve You!     Keep READING!!! 🙂
