I LOVE Reading- continued…
Scanning our table of recently acquired books, LOVE is easy to find. Sometimes it’s in the title, like Love Lettering & The Love Story of Missy Carmichael. Sometimes it’s in the subtitle, such as Walk to Beautiful: The Power of Love and a Homeless Kid Who Found the Way.
Other times, LOVE is found in more intangible ways. A case in point is Prairie Bachelor: The Story of a Kansas Homesteader and the Populist Movement.
One of our newest acquisitions, this book was a labor of LOVE for local author, Lynda Beck Fenwick. (Click here to visit her blog.)
We are excited to have Prairie Bachelor on our shelves! This locally based book introduces us to the life and writings of Isaac Beckley Werner, a Stafford County, Kansas homesteader in the late 1800’s.
Thank you, to Lynn Suiter for donating the book to the library!
And, speaking of finding LOVE in the library, we’ve had some busy artists making Valentines for their bookish friends: from Clifford & Elsa, to Alice in Wonderland & Dora the Explorer!
At left is the newest member of our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program, decorating his Valentine with sparkly ♥ stickers.
Visit the library for books we KNOW you’re going to LOVE!
And, if you need ideas for your Valentine, check out some of the many ways to say LOVE around the world, in the display below. (Quoted Lyrics by Jon Mohr, Song sung by Sandi Patti)
