Special people stay with us, even when they are gone. 

The photo at left is from October of 2016, when Freda Helwig celebrated her 100th birthday, surrounded by friends, Roena E. & Elaine B.

Freda loved Macksville and she was beloved in Macksville, as well!

Recent memorials given in Freda’s name include the adult book: A Treasury of Miracles For Friends, by Karen Kingsbury, and children’s books: Courageous World Changers: 50 True Stories of Daring Women of God, by Redmond, plus  Sky Color, The Dot, Word Collector, and  Ish by Reynolds. A tabletop easel, display board & frame were also donated to inspire creativity & to celebrate artistic endeavors of local patrons, young & old.

The photo at right is from a quilt lovingly created by Roena Emmons.

  Memorial books chosen in Roena’s memory reflect her love of country, of gardening, of family ties, & of quilting.  Children’s book titles given include:  I Voted by Shulman, A Green, Green Garden by Mercer Mayer, The Quilt Walk by Dallas, and The Josefina Story Quilt by Coerr.
