Looking Back- Looking Forward!
Did you know that the Macksville City Library has a large collection of MHS Yearbooks? “Thanks” to many who have donated yearbooks over the years, such as Karen Spencer, Crys Hogan, Connie Grizzell, MHS, and others. Check our Wish List tab, above, to see which years we lack in our collection. We hope to offer digitized versions in the future… but until then, feel free to visit the library for a look back at Macksville’s past.
This post from the past honors Jan Howell, MHS Class of ’53. A memorial was given to the Macksville City Library Building Fund in his memory. These images were taken from page 34 in the ’53 Yearbook.
And, on pages 48-49, blueprint drawings are shown for the “New Gymnasium” to be built in 1954. The text says “Thanks to the voters of this fine school district for their desire to furnish the best in educational facilities…. This magnificent new building will seat over 1,000 people and will be one of the largest and finest in the area.”
As WE look to the future, ‘Thanks’ to those who see the value of the Macksville City Library and are working to make OUR new addition a reality… for patrons of all ages, for education & entertainment, and for the benefit of all who cherish the past & who dream for the future!
