Preliminary Schedule of Events for September 3rd, 2011

• Lion’s Club Breakfast at the VIP from 6:30-9:00 am
• 5k run at 7:30 am (register @ 7am  $20 /Tshirt- benefitting cancer research)
• Parade 10:00 am- including a Bike parade for kids 12 & under (meet at tennis courts- judging at 9:30am)- Miss Kansas will present the trophies!   Car show at the park following the parade.
• Arts & Crafts, Food vendors in the park all day
• Quilt Display at Grace United Methodist Church all day
• Bingo, games, & train rides in the city park off & on all day
• Horseshoe competition starting at 9:00 am (register at 8:45am)
• Commemorative postal cancellation from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Post Office. 
• 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at the park, starting at 12:30pm
• Kansas author, Cheryl Unruh, presenting her book, Flyover People, at the Macksville City Library at 1:00pm
• Inflatables at the Free Methodist Church
• Roping Rodeo at Jesse Ortiz’s arena starting at 3:00 pm
• Time Capsule from 1986 will be unearthed & contents displayed at the Fire Station.  Next time capsule will be buried at a later date (may bring items for next time capsule on Sept. 3rd).
• Free Hog Roast feed & fixings begins at 5:00 pm in the park
• Pie booth by the Christian Church ladies
• Family Literacy Program– Skit, Readings, Giveaways & Refreshments at the bandshell at 5:30 pm— Hosted by the Macksville City Library
• Raffle drawing at 8:00 pm
• Dance with live band, Thunder Alley, on Main Street.
• Sunday morning: 10:45am– A Community Church Service in the park, with a covered dish dinner following
• Sunday evening- Cloverleaf 4-H Movie in the park, Soul Surfer-  8 pm
