New Books to Explore & a Reason to Read
The Book Truck brought so many new books our way!
Whether you are interested in learning about history, finances, cooking, composting, painting, crocheting, gardening, animals, parenting, ETC… we’ve got you covered! They also sent graphic novels, mysteries, westerns, romances, YA, Elementary, Junior, Inspirational and audio-books to please a wide variety of preferences!
Two titles caught this librarian’s eye: How to Raise a Reader, and The Enchanted Hour- The Miraculous Power of Reading Aloud in the Age of Distraction.
Reading aloud is SOOOO important, and we’ve got some young ‘readers’ really near to their goal of 1000 Books Before Kindergarten! If you have a little one, consider joining this fun, free program that makes a WORLD of difference in your child’s future success in academics and beyond! 😉
At the library we have a new Pete the Cat puzzle kids can put together. Puzzles are another way to promote future success: helping develop skills such as shape recognition, patience, concentration, and a sense of achievement. They also help develop fine motor skills and hand-eye co-ordination…. plus, being a fun, screen free way to spend time with family and friends!
