Perseverance @ the Library!
When I drove up to the library this afternoon, I was surprised by the beautiful blooms of a daylily on the north west corner of the building… a spot where hoses & watering cans never go.
Yet, despite it all, there she stood!
After putting out the OPEN sign, I watered our memorial flowers & the marigolds lining the ramp.
In a narrow crack of the sidewalk at the bottom of the ramp a stray marigold seed has put down roots, & I’ve watched it grow all summer.
USUALLY, I pull weeds in cracks, but, as they say, one definition of a WEED is: “a plant growing where it is not wanted.”
Since this little plant is not harming anything, I’ve decided to observe it & see how determined it turns out to be.
Other signs of determination & perseverance at the library popped up when two “Library Crawlers” showed up today! They only have two more libraries to visit after this. They explored the library & even put together a 100 piece Pirate puzzle! ARRRGH! 🙂
Another group came to check out books, add to our sticker mosaic, & put together the ABC Train puzzle.
Then, more people came– to check out books, print proposals, work on job applications, do activity sheets… etc., etc.
And, the day isn’t over yet!
Suddenly, I’m in the mood to reread Watty Piper’s classic- The Little Engine That Could.
The Macksville City Library– a great place to Persevere! ♥
Very pretty!
