Season of Hope
Happy Spring! The crabapple tree is in full bloom at the Macksville City Library, and despite a lack of winter moisture, hidden bulbs are shooting up vibrant leaves and flowers, as well.
Year end reports are all submitted, and the numbers are positive. 🙂 In 2016 we had 2,540 visits to the library. Adults checked out 617 items, and children & young adults checked out 1,947 books and magazines. Our computers were utilized 836 times, and COUNTLESS people used our Wi-Fi, inside the library & out, during library hours & beyond. We hosted 32 programs/events for all ages, and 1,005 people took part in our programs. We’re so thankful to all who helped make 2016 a productive year for the Library and our community!
We’re also thankful to the many who have given gifts and memorials to the library, to honor friends and loved ones, or to simply get us closer to our goal of a new addition to the library! One recent gift was the book, Digger and Daisy Go to the Doctor, given in memory of Janice Nusser, a former beloved employee at the Stafford County Health Department. The inscription reads, “… courageous and strong, her light shines on…”
