September Smiles
The first official day of Fall was September 22nd.
Can you feel it in the air? Or see it in the changing trees & slower growing grass?
To the left are a few quotes for the month & the season (part of this librarian’s 2020 goal of creating monthly quotes for display at the library 🙂 )
Fall is here, but Spring plantings still linger….
Do you remember our Earth Day outreach in April?
Some of the flowers we handed out can still be seen blooming at the local Post Office!
Another recipient sent in a picture of her flowers saying “They have been beautiful all summer, thanks so much!“
One couple, who moved to assisted living, took their flowers with them to remind them of Macksville.
Others can be seen all around the town, still blooming — sharing HOPE and sharing smiles!
And, speaking of SMILES & HOPE– please visit our Thanks & Memorial Page to see news of recent memorials, gifts & book donations at the library.
With one recent gift we fondly remember former Macksville resident, Jetta Wellman. This gift will be directed to the building fund and to purchase/replace some well-loved classics on our shelves. Library board members were asked to brainstorm titles they consider classic and came up with: Little House on the Prairie, Old Yeller, Love You Forever, Heidi, Green Eggs and Ham, The Great Fuzz Frenzy, The Little Engine That Could, and Charlotte’s Web, to name a few…
Do you have a favorite, ‘must read’ book for children (or adults)?
Book suggestions always welcome! 🙂
