Share-A-Story Space Adventure!
33 Kids, 14 Guardians & 8 Helpers packed the Macksville City Library for our special Share A Story Summer Reading program, hosted by Smoky Hills Public Television.
SHPTV Share A Story Presenter, Jessica Bowman, read the book: There’s No Place Like Space!, and the kids shared their knowledge about space along the way. 😉
Then, everyone got creative & made rockets using the letters of their names. Star stickers and chalky smoke & flames finished off their masterpieces.
Next, we saw video from the hit PBS show The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That. We learned about GRAVITY, the moon, & more.
 Â
After the video, each child got a copy of There’s No Place Like Space! to keep, along with an activity booklet, reading log & Share A Story info.
Share A Story is part of Smoky Hills Public Television’s mission to encourage children to read. Each year libraries around the viewing area invite SHPTV to share information about PBS Kids programs, read a story, teach the children a craft project & send each one home with a book for them to enjoy with their families.
“Thank You!” to Jessica, her helper, & SHPTV for Sharing a Spectacular Space Story in Macksville! 🙂
