Summer Reading 2022 is underway!

We kicked off our Story Hours for 6th graders & under with a special visit from Smoky Hills PBS.

Thanks to Jessica Bowman & SHPTV for a FIN-Tastic Share a Story program! We began by listening to the Wild Kratts book– Wild Sea Creatures- Sharks, Whales, and Dolphins!   The kids were excited that they each got to take home a copy of the book, courtesy of SHPTV.

After the story, everyone made shark headbands.  There was cutting, pasting, coloring, sharing, helping, measuring & lots of creativity that made for some awesome results!

We finished our program watching a Wild Kratts episode, “Stuck on Sharks.”  Martin & Chris introduced us to lots of sea creatures & managed to save the day (by saving a mama shark & her three baby sharks!).

After the Share a Story program, kids checked out books, picked out brag tags (see photo), and grabbed snacks for the way home!

Next week, we have a special visitor: Pam Martin (and critters!)  from the Kansas Wetlands Education Center.  Hope to see you then!
