The Summer Reading program at the Macksville City Library is UNDERWAY!

36 kids came to program #1, BLASTING OFF into A Universe of Stories!

We read about Pig the Pug, & we imagined what a trip to Jupiter would look like (being squashed flat & inevitably boiling / freezing mean we WON’T EVER book that trip!) 😉

Attendees showed off their knowledge of the planets, and we previewed some new books ready for check out.  Afterwards, we utilized the new clipboards purchased thanks to our:

Dollar General Summer Reading grant (WooHoo! $1,000 Dollars!)

Kids made alien bookmarks and decorated their new reading bags.  Check out some of the COOL designs!

  After bags & bookmarks were completed, books were checked out, & kids received bags of cookies as they headed out the door. 🙂
