Summer Reading SOARS!
37 heroic kids attended our second story hour. They learned about Hero Cat, by Eileen Spinelli, which is based on a true story. They decorated their own superhero gliders, & then they flew their Super-Selves into a ‘burning building’ to save a puppy or kitten in need. (Disclaimer: No real flames were lit!) All critters were rescued, & homemade cookies were appreciated by all. 🙂
At this time, 55 kids have signed up & participated in summer reading. We have four story hours to go & there is still time to sign up! So far 17 have signed up for our YA and Adult Summer Reading program. This program lasts until the end of July… plenty of time to sign up, read some books & get your name in the prize drawings!!!
Note: Tuesday, June 16th (weather permitting), we are hosting a special “Tales in the Park” program at the Macksville City Park. Program begins at 9:00am & ends at 10:30am. We will learn about dog training, dog etiquette, shelter animals, making dog treats, & exploring new Mutt-I-Grees books from the library. This program is made possible in part by O.K. Kids (see shirt below) & their sponsors. Prepare to GET OFF the COUCH & come have some Fun!
