The STARS were out at Summer Reading Program #3
Our #3 Story Hour featured these three fun read alouds!
Thankfully, Tiny Turtle made it safely to sea, & seagull only managed to chomp off one of Star’s rays. And, well, when it comes to The Bug in the Bog… no spoilers here! You’ll have to read it for yourself or quiz a kiddo! 🙂
After the Tiny Turtle story, we played a few rounds of Turtle, Turtle, Who’s Got the Turtle? It’s always fun to see the smiles of those who are trying to trick the guesser!
Then, Mrs. Loomis read about The Bug in the Bog, a tongue-twisting book with a catchy twist.
After the story we circled back up for a game of Catch the Turtle. The big Frog was hungry for that tiny turtle (since both are omnivores… the biggest one USUALLY wins!). The giggles & squeals rose in anticipation as the frog went faster & faster, gaining on the tiny turtle…
And, after he caught the turtle (BURP), it was time for a final story & craft.
We finished with the book, Star of the Sea, & a star fish craft.
Love the creativity of these kids!
If you missed this week’s craft, feel free to drop by the library & pick one up (while supplies last). Looking forward to next week’s Summer Reading Program #4, which features a local author visit and will be hosted by Equity Bank. Kids will check in at the library first and then walk to the Bank.
Hope to see you there! Keep READING!
There’s still time to Join in and explore these Oceans of Possibilities!
