On Oct. 6th, we took part in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record campaign.  This is the third year the Macksville City Library has participated, and once again, we topped OUR record number of kids read to– the same book on the same day.

This year, 143 kids- grades Pre-K through 5th- heard the story Llama llama red pajama.  They added the sound effects and were excellent audiences.   We also talked about the kids’ favorite bedtime stories.  Lots of fun titles were mentioned, but the overall most popular had to be: Goodnight Moon.  It was a fun way to reinforce the reading they do at home and to promote reading to kids ages zero & up, which is what the Jumpstart program (and ours!) are striving for.

Notice:  Saturday, Oct. 8th, 2011 – the Macksville Library will be closed.  Regular hours resume on Monday.
