We Read for the Record!
For the 4th year in a row, we have participated in Jumpstart’s Read for the Record. This year we read the book: Ladybug Girl & the Bug Squad to the kids in the MGS lunch room before school started (pre-K through 8th grade plus a group of day care kids)- approx. 185 kids.
We are grateful for the help of six junior high students who acted out the roles in the book. When spirit week attire was added to the story costumes, we came up with some pretty unique looks!
Every child listening to this Bug Squad adventure received a spider ring from the library. And, as always, we love participating in this project because we get to remind kids that reading is soooo important. We encourage kids to make books fun (even by acting them out!) and to read to their little brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, babysitting charges, etc…
