Week #17 Deck the Halls!
Week #17 was a week to DECK the HALLS! Drywall teams worked on sanding seams & covering nail heads in the addition, with heaters & radios blasting!
Inside the existing library, we prepared for Macksville’s 15th annual COUNTRY CHRISTMAS!
We are so THANKFUL to the South Central Kansas Library System for the grant for this Deck the Halls & (soon) Paint the Walls program. Grant funds were used to purchase a Christmas tree, lights, craft supplies, paint rollers, covers, extenders, pans, & munchies for all volunteers!
During Country Christmas, we had 32 visitors to the library. Young & old signed up for our prize drawing, traced their hands on construction paper, made a tree ornament to take home, browsed our book sale, & snagged some Christmas themed treats.
The Country Christmas theme was United at Christmas… Check out our Christmas tree decor- UNITING all the hands that were cut out by our visitors! And, if you missed the fun on Saturday– stop by anytime before Dec. 20th to add to our garland, find some awesome books for gifts (all proceeds benefit our library addition), & sign up for our prize drawing!
In the afternoon, we helped with StoryTime, & Cloverleaf 4-H member, Cody N, was our guest reader.
Did you know that this is the 200th Anniversary of the poem: “The Night Before Christmas” by Clement Moore?
After StoryTime, there were cookies, cocoa, crafts, Santa, a parade, potluck, & prizes. Macksville knows how to host a fun time! Thanks to all who helped organize, decorate, sponsor & donate time & talents to make it possible!
Here are some pictures from the parade… not all in focus, unless the focus was fun, color & light & excitement!
Keep checking in… Our addition is over halfway complete!
