We began Week #24 by honoring Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy with books on display & his quotes on bookmarks to share.

Here are two quotes to ponder-  which can even apply to our Building Journey:

“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”

We have diligently been moving forward for 24 weeks.

Moving forward with programming & making books, games & services available, no matter how small of a space we had in which to work… even as the plastic sheeting crept in & many of the shelves were covered.

From trenches to trusses, to drywall & ductwork- progress has been ongoing.  This week featured tiling on the floor & walls of our restroom/storm shelter plus a new lighting fixture.

The six openings in the wall dividing old from new gained trim.

And, the original windows found their way back into the building!

EXIT signs were installed & air conditioners set.

Outdoor receptacles & lighting were wired.

The week ended with a beautiful SNOW DAY!

And, as the five & a half inches of snow began melting from the rooftop…

…it was evident (by the river of ice coating the entryways & the giant icicles hanging down) that guttering will be a wonderful next step forward!
