Week #26 Closer & Closer
During Week #26, construction work necessarily slowed.
Crews went elsewhere while we wait on countertops & other supplies to arrive.
Visits from the electrician & plumber & contractor are still in store, & some pending jobs are: railings outside, touch-ups inside, & other punch list items.
Inside the library, the work hasn’t slowed! In between processing & checking out books, librarians have begun to pack up boxes- clearing the shelves in preparation for new carpet installation in the original library!
We don’t yet know the date, but when we get the call, everything that isn’t nailed down in the library’s main room will need to be transported into the new addition!
The old, stained carpet will be removed, & new carpet will be installed.
And THEN, all of it (except the children’s books) must be moved BACK… EXCITING AND a little DAUNTING!
So many are excited about the new addition– perhaps none more than Karen Spencer, who was on the library board when addition plans were first drawn up eleven years ago!
It was an honor to show Karen and her daughter, Karie, the new addition when they surprised us and dropped off a gift for the library. ♥ We look forward to hanging this Sunflower barn quilt, made by Karen, in the addition that she helped build!
As always, we are so THANKFUL for all who support this community & the Macksville City Library! (Thanks & Memorials Page * Wish List)
