All participants are winners though… drop by the library for a pair of Go Stangs! shades & a free beverage coupon from Bluebird Books.  We have one more month to go before the next big drawings (local level plus County wide prizes!)  And, there is still to sign up; stop by the library for more info. 🙂

Our final Story Hour was July 6th, and 31 kids showed up to hear stories and pick up their PRIZES!  (if you missed our story hour but met your reading goal, please bring your reading log to the library to pick up your prizes 🙂  )

Following our Story Hour, we had our Program Ending Pool Party for all who met their reading goals.  Prizes were handed out to top readers, Emily, Gavin, Laney, & Anna.

The Summer Reading Program is one of our favorite things to do each year, & we are so Thankful to all who help make the program possible!

Our faithful library board members & the local Girl Scouts helped provide cookies for all of our HUNGRY for KNOWLEDGE readers.  Volunteers MikealAnn, Lexi, Jennifer, Anna, Eileen, Debbie, & Neva offered PRICELESS help when it came to making crafts, taking attendance, checking out books, putting cards in books & even helping shelve books.  BlueBird Books donated 15 beverage coupons & four $10.00 gift cards for our YA & Adult participants.  Everything Under the Son donated five prize books.  The Pratt WalMart donated $85.00 to provide snacks & prizes for the kids.

The Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded us the Super Heroic Grant of $1,500 for the 2015 Summer Reading Program!  This money & their commitment to Literacy helped strengthen our program in so many ways… Funds were used to purchase amazing new books, a paper cutter & three dies to use with it, H.E.R.O. bracelets (Help Everyone, Respect Others), Go Stangs! shades, Super Hero hacky sacks, craft supplies & more.

The 2015 Summer Reading Program yielded Heroic Stories, Fun times, & Many Smiles!!!  May the Reading & Learning Continue!
