It’s hard to believe that our next-to-last Story Time for 2021 is over! The sixteen kids in attendance helped vote for potential Party Snacks for next Monday ( Ice cream anyone? 🙂 ). And, they listened to two books: Bear Needs Help and Pinkalicious: Dragon to the Rescue.
We’re so THANKFUL to Smoky Hills PBS for sending enough copies of Pinkalicious for everyone in attendance to take home a copy!
After the stories were over, we played some of the learning games newly available at the library for checkout.
One group of kids played Moon Balance with Mrs. Loomis. Looks like they got ALL of the pieces stacked up successfully!
The other group worked to help Little Red Riding Hood & the Big Bad Wolf find paths to Grandma’s house.
We started with the Beginner Level, learning how to create pathways to keep Red safe from the wolf. Using trial & error, the kids quickly got the hang of the challenge. We even jumped to the Master level for the final puzzle, which had everyone’s gears turning!
For crafts, participants decorated a cat & dog bookmark…
PURR-Fect for holding your place when it’s time to put down your book or when it’s “Hot Dog- Time to Read Again!”
We took pictures of the kids with stuffed animals to be used for our FINALE next week. If you haven’t sent a picture to the library with your pet, please send it as soon as possible, or feel free to drop by on Wednesday & take a photo with one of our stuffed buddies!
Have you met your Reading Goal? Logs can be turned in any time between now & next Monday to be eligible for the prize drawing. (Grades 6th & under)
